Charities
A key aspect of the Nova project is to use the unique power
of photography to effect social and environmental change.
We aim to do this is two ways. Firstly by donating 10%
of all print sales to good causes. And secondly, by working
with charities and photographers on photographic projects
that helps raise the profile of the charity's work.
We have chosen a range of charities that reflect this philosophy.
Specifically charities that empower people to transform
their own lives, community or environment.
Listed below are the charities we currently hope to support,
with a short description of their work and a link to their
website. Please note that the charities we support may change
from time to time, however the charities listed at the time
of any purhase will be the ones that benefit from that purchase.
Enjoy art and make a difference.
Amnesty International is a worldwide movement of people
who campaign for internationally recognized human rights
for all. Our supporters are outraged by human rights abuses
but inspired by hope for a better world - so we work to
improve human rights through campaigning and international
solidarity. We have more than 2.2 million members and subscribers
in more than 150 countries and regions and we coordinate
this support to act for justice on a wide range of issues.
BTCV works towards a better environment where people are
valued, included and involved, creating a more sustainable
future by inspiring people and improving places.
PhotoVoice’s mission is to bring about positive social
change for marginalised communities through providing them
with photographic training with which they can advocate,
express themselves and generate income.
Around one in five young people in the UK are not in work,
education or training. Youth unemployment costs the UK economy
£10 million a day in lost productivity, while youth crime
costs £1 billion every year. We address this by giving practical
and financial support to the young people who need it most.
We help develop key skills, confidence and motivation, enabling
young people to move into work, education or training.
Shelter is a charity that works to alleviate the distress
caused by homelessness and bad housing. We do this by giving
advice, information and advocacy to people in housing need,
and by campaigning for lasting political change to end the
housing crisis for good.

organisation that works through volunteers to fight poverty
in developing countries. VSO's high-impact approach involves
